My goal is to enable you to take care of your health and well-being. Welcome to the Mental Fitness Retreat Program, where we provide a foundation for achieving stillness of mind, cultivating mental health, and fostering feelings of peace and overall well-being. Join us from September 5th to 8th, 2024, at the serene Koningsteen Center, just outside the city of Brussels. This transformative retreat is designed to help you reset, realign, and reconnect with yourself and fellow participants.

The beautiful land of Koningsteen.be can be traced back to the 13th century. Back then it was mainly used as a gathering and hunting place for the Dukes of Brabant. The surrounding fields and woods were known for their unusually rich wildlife.

This retreat allows you to dive deeper into yourself, learning to control your mind and emotions, enabling profound transformation and growth. Matias’s expertise will guide you to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually, all while staying in this iconic location.

Focusing on the interconnectedness of body and mind, you will practice different meditation techniques, Pranayama (breathing techniques) and asana (yoga postures).

By the end of the program, participants will have integrated basic aspects of yoga and meditation, enabling them to establish a personal practice to continue back home. The program is open to all levels—both beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome.

By providing a combination of mental, physical and psychosomatic techniques, the Mental Fitness program aims to foster self-awareness, to re-educate emotional life and, to create a balanced state of mind and body.

The Program.

The schedule includes 3 Hatha Yoga and 3 Restorative Yin Yoga classes to take care of your body. You will also participate in 5 Meditation and Pranayama (breathwork) sessions, which are proven to have a positive impact on mental and emotional health. Additionally, we will have discussions and exchanges of experiences and challenges around yoga practice.

During the retreat, participants will learn practical techniques and philosophical aspects of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, and how to integrate them into their daily lives.

What about food?

To better support and nurture our guests during the workshops and retreats, our kitchen team prepares and serves a fresh, deliciously healthy, buffet-style organic lunch.

Organic food is not only easy for the body to absorb and digest, but it is also a perfect way to stay healthy and happy. Organic diets are rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, which help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, contributing to better mental health. Nutrients such as folate and magnesium, found abundantly in vegetarian foods, aid in the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which are essential for a positive mood and emotional well-being

Meet your teacher

Matias is a certified Hatha Yoga teacher, Kriya Yoga, and Zen meditation instructor, as well as a Thai massage therapist. Drawing from over ten years of experience in human development and over five years of meditation practice, he offers a unique blend of yoga principles, mindfulness techniques, and personalized support in his mentorship practice. Matias has led retreats, workshops, and classes worldwide, including in Sri Lanka and the US, and is currently based in Brussels, Belgium.

He shares a method for using meditation and Yoga to develop the pillars of transformation, such as self-awareness, discipline, focus, concentration and the expansion of consciousness. His goal is to help people reach a state of embodied harmony, by aligning the physical, mental, and emotional dimensions of the human experience. He brings together his knowledge and life experience in his mission to serve others in their journey for self-development to a peaceful and healthy way of living.
